[ Okay, so this doesn’t completely rub him the right way. Helping the new recruits is one thing, but suspecting them of doing this? Without any proof? He doesn’t like that. ]

I’m neither. Actually, I already asked Caroline to meet me. She’s my friend, and I didn’t want her going alone. I don’t believe she’s responsible for this.

Not willingly.

But all of that aside, why are you giving me orders? Does this come from Armada? It’s not what he said when I spoke to him.
None of them are being directly blamed, but we do not fully understand with what we are dealing with, and until we know for certain, nothing should be ruled out. Viruses, parasites, infections - all of these circumstances can turn an unknowing victim into a very real threat.
If we are going to protect them, we need objectivity.

Which is why I asked for your cooperation, I did not order you.
If you are uncomfortable with this, I will ask someone else.
I didn't say I was uncomfortable, I asked where it came from. I told you, I already asked Caroline to meet me.

But if we're going to protect them, we can't jump to conclusions. We know there's something out there. We can all hear the clicking. We need to find out what it is, not alienate our teammates.
Assigning new recruits to the guard of their senior recruits is far from alienating. Being smart about potential threats and not eliminating the possibility is not senseless suspicion. We are defending them as we are defending ourselves.
As for where this comes from, it comes from me alone. If you are agreeing to watch her as consistently as possible, I will note this and send it along with the rest of the reports to Armada.
No one's going to hurt her, unless there's proof that she's done this, all right? And even if she somehow did, we'll arrest her and help her, not harm her.
FROM: dartagnan@cdc.org
If that answers your terms, you can send the report.

I was not suggesting you kill her as an immediate reaction if she were.

All right. I’ll do it.
