But you must be careful. What you say, Clary...they're always listening.

[ He doesn't by any means want her to change her mind. He just doesn't want her to give them a reason to hurt her. D'Artagnan gets in trouble for that often enough. ]

[ Without thinking she touches the translator tucked into her ear. It feels like a part of her now. Maybe that's how they win. ] I'll be careful.

[ D’Artagnan sees where she touches and he nods, agreeing. He wouldn’t even understand what she was saying without those earpieces. Not completely. His English is still piecemeal, and he imagines her French is much the same – if she speaks any at all. ]

[ She'd probably insult his mother on accident and considering d'Artagnan's reaction to that it wouldn't work in her favour. ]

[ She nods firmly like they've just made some kind of pact. Maybe in the teenage world they have. ] Because I swear I will help your friend resurrect you so he can punch you. [ She's never spoken to Athos but he has that vibe about him. ] I'll learn necromancy just so I can.
